Remove Bump Strips (For Spraying) Honda Civic EK (96-00) Tools Needed: Pliers + Screwdrivers!
Front Wings - the small + easy part!
![]() Doors - getting harder!
1. Remove the door speaker. This includes removing the cover, unscrewing three screws for the speaker, and three more screws for holding the door insert to the door panel. Remember to unclip the speaker from its wires. 2. Remove two more screws, one behind the door handle (you will have to hold the handle open while you do this one) and one inside the small storage space. 3. Remove the door interior by firstly "snapping" out the clips that hold the panel. Simply put your hand around the edges and pull out with a bit of force to pull the clips out of their sockets. 4. Lift out the door interior panel - this is easier when you realise how it is sat inside the window ledge! 5. Unclip the electric windows/central locking wires. 6. You will now face a screen of thin plastic which you can either cut through or gently remove so that you can stick it back down later. After you have done this reach inside along the line of the outside bumpstrip and you will find about 6 plastic clips to pop out. This was a two man job for me as it is easier if you have someone to help you pull from the outside aswell as you squeezing and pushing from the inside! ![]() Rear Quarter Panels - the mission... ![]() 3. Put the rear seats down and remove the gold bolts. Then take out the back rests of the rear seats.
![]() 4. Remove the bench part of the seat by holding each side underneath it at the front and pull upwards very hard. It needs a strong force to be pulled out. ![]() 5. Remove
the rear speakers and start unscrewing all bolts that hold the rest of
the rear interior parts to the car. You know when you have done enough
as you will be able to pull back the interior panelling and see the bump strip clips.
